An integral part of the roots of Acument™ Global Technologies North America is a company formerly named Camcar. In 1943 in Rockford, Illinois, three men believing they could produce fasteners and cold-formed components that others believed impossible by the cold-heading process, started their own fastener company. Bob Campbell, Ray Carlson and Gene Aspling pooled $16,000, bought a 40-year old header, rented a small building and Camcar was born.

The Part that couldn't be made:

Many of America's best and brightest B-24 Bomber pilots sat frustrated and puzzled in the early weeks and months of 1943. Their grounded aircraft sat as they did, waiting for delivery of small replacement screw machine rudder control cable terminals that failed on so many of the planes. The part, they were told "couldn't be made". This part ultimately became the first major production order of the new company Camcar and its legacy was set in stone!

Camcar started as the company that made the products others could not. A unique cold-forming process was developed that in the 1960's and 1970's revolutionized the maximum limits of capability in heading (the Raycarl® Process). The TORX® and TORX PLUS® Drive system was developed from that brand philosophy and many other patented value-added designs were as well. Today Acument Global Technologies is dedicated to the same principles, serving customers by developing the technology to solve their problems and provide products with QUALITY FIRST. ENGINEERED TO LAST.™

The Camcar® brand = Service, Technology, Attitude (we can do it) and Reliability

The Camcar motto, developed by Ray Carlson still holds true today:
